In line with Deutsche Bank's plan to become a leading provider of ESG solutions, the firm has appointed Markus Müller as ESG chief investment officer, in addition to his role as global head of the firm’s CIO Office.

His appointment is a response to an ever-deeper focus on the topic to meet client needs and address future ESG developments within the CIO office, the firm said. It believes that a fast-evolving ESG environment requires strong thematic ESG thought leadership.

According to has promoted four senior associates to partner level, starting in July. Suzanne Mynors will be in the Private Client team, Thomas Bond in the Insolvency and Restructuring team, Jemma Pollock in the Family team, and Carla Whalen in the Charity and Social Business team, the firm said

Mynors has almost 25 years’ experience of advising clients on wills and succession planning, probate and estate administration, inheritance tax planning, power of attorney, and court of protection matters for those lacking mental capacity, the firm said.

Bond, who joined the firm’s insolvency and restructuring practice in January 2018, acts for creditors, insolvency practitioners, company directors and those facing bankruptcy. He deals with all aspects of corporate and personal insolvency, the company added.

In 2019, Pollock became a senior associate at Russell-Cooke, advising clients on a broad range of family matters including divorce, financial matters following separation, pre and post-nuptial agreements, and private law relating to children. Her experience includes working not only for couples who are married or cohabiting, but for wider family members, business partners and joint property owners, the firm added.

Whalen joined Russell-Cooke as an associate in 2017, advising charities on people-related matters, including employment rights, discrimination and whistleblowing, trustee conduct and member disputes. She also specialises in data protection for charities and deals with the lawful collection and use of personal data, the firm said.

These promotions bring the total number of partners at Russell-Cooke to 65. Along with these promotions, the firm has also announced seven senior associate promotions, also starting in July. The new senior associates are Nimmisha Aslam in the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team; Clare Garbett in the Charity and Social Business team; Pauline Lam in the Property Litigation team; Andrew Morgan in the Trusts and Estates Disputes team; Lara Murrell in the Residential Conveyancing team; Sarah Pennington in the Residential Property team; and Jade Quirke in the Children team.
